Wanaka is an amazing town – so many interesting, outdoorsy Activities!
Sometimes, though, you just feel like doing something a bit different, and that’s where Hook comes in! How many places do you come across where you can stroll up to the door, grab yourself a fishing rod, wander 30 meters over to spring fed pools, cast a few times and catch yourself a Chinook Salmon!? Get your family/friends involved – you can share rods, as it’s good to have a spare pair of hands to land the monster that you’re bound to, ahem, Hook…
Someone in your party not into fishing? No worries! They can park up in the alfresco restaurant with a glass of local beer or wine and some snacks, and wait while you work! You then reappear with your prize Salmon, which our restaurant team can whisk away and prepare for you: Sashimi? Hot Smoked? Salmon Pizza? The choice is yours…
What else? Well – we have an epic sandpit for the kiddos, Mini Golf for all ages and Lawn Games for those sunny afternoons… Wanaka Activities don’t get much more unique than this.
By all means – tack us on to the end of one of your outdoorsy activities too! We have bike racks out the front, so if you’ve been out on the trails and need a slight change of pace, we’re a great stop off to refuel on the way home. Fishing is entirely optional too – if you just want a spot in the sun (or shade) for a beer and a chat, we’ve got you covered!
